Pizzerias in Rome

Rome has nearly 15,500 pizzerias! That’s a lot. On the job, here are the ones we have preferred and that we advise you, including more or less tourist addresses, as well as some that have been awarded by the Italian gastronomic guides (read the page devoted to these pizzerias that we have not yet tested).
These pizzerias are located in several districts of the Italian capital, all or almost cook pizzas over a wood fire. We sometimes find very good pizzas in restaurants where pizza is not the only speciality.
We also mention among them the good pizzas with the cut that we could meet, some are elaborated in good traditional bakeries.
Among the sliced pizzas there are two great classics in Rome: pizza rossa (red pizza) with tomato and oregano sauce, and pizza bianca (white pizza), with just rosemary and olive oil, sometimes olives, and which can be garnished with cheese or mortadella.
Also read the page about pizza in Rome, and sliced pizzas with the page on street food in Rome.
On the following map, are placed the classic pizzerias as well as the pizzerias of sliced pizzas and the bakeries that also sell some.
