Also noteworthy is the remarkable church of Santa Prassede<\/strong><\/a>, which preserves extraordinary Byzantine mosaics. Nearby, the grand Basilica of Saint Mary Major<\/strong><\/a> is located in the neighboring Rione Esquilino.\r\n\r\nThe eastern part of the district is the Oppian Hill<\/strong>, which rises north of the Colosseum<\/strong> and the Ludus Magnus. Nero<\/strong> built a lavish palace here, whose remains can still be visited along with the rooms of the Domus Aurea<\/strong>.\r\n
