{"id":604,"count":0,"description":"[caption id=\"attachment_16416\" align=\"alignright\" width=\"300\"]\"villa-gordiani-mausoleo-roma\"<\/a> Villa Gordiani[\/caption]\r\n\r\nBetween Via Prenestina<\/strong> and Via Casilina<\/strong> in eastern Rome, the Pigneto<\/strong> district has become trendy in recent years for spending evenings with the Roman youth.\r\nLike San Lorenzo, it was a popular working-class neighborhood developed in the early 20th century, also known for its anti-fascist culture.\r\n\r\nAlong Via Prenestina, one can find the remains of the circular mausoleum known as Torrione Prenestino, followed by abandoned power plants. A little further, the avenue crosses the Villa Gordiani<\/strong> park, where remnants of the 3rd-century imperial villa of the Gordian emperors can be admired.\r\nFurther on, the working-class district of Centocelle<\/strong> developed alongside the military airport in the early 20th century. In this area, the Forte Prenestino<\/strong> was built around 1885 and has been occupied for decades by a self-managed social center dedicated to urban culture, music, and more.\r\n
