Ostia (now Ostia Antica) was the ancient port city of Rome at the mouth of the Tiber.
Located 20 km from Rome, it’s archaeological treasures and relaxing atmosphere, are good reasons to visit.

Ostia was active since the times of the Roman republic, and remained a residential and administrative centre after the construction of the neighbouring ports of Claudius and Trajan, with close to 50,000 residents.

The ruins of the city, which today are located two kilometres from the coast due to sedimentation, retain many houses and public buildings. This is a particularly important example of ancient daily life.
