Subway (Metro) and Buses in Rome

ATAC RomaThere are two main subway lines in Rome (Metro A and B), which cross at Termini.A third is being built (line C) and a line B fork (B2) is partly already in service.
Line C, which is to cross the very center is proving a long and difficult undertaking.Upon every excavation, ancient remains are discovered…

However the bus network is dense and frequent, although not suitable to the number of inhabitants and whose connections outside the city center are rather poor. The major drawback is the sometimes uncertain schedule and crowding at peak times.

A single bus or metro ticket costs € 1.50, it is valid for one subway ride or 90 minutes travel by bus.

A day ticket costs € 6
