Campo de’ Fiori Square

Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is a major thoroughfare that runs through the historic heart of Rome. To its south extends from west to east one of the most interesting districts of the city, encompassing the entire historic Rione Regola, with the long Via Giulia as its spine, stretching from the lower part of Rione Ponte in the west to Rione Sant’Angelo in the east, where the Ghetto, the Largo Argentina, and the Tiber Island lie in the middle of the river.

At the center of this area, full of palaces and churches, one can relax on a terrace at the charming and lively Campo de’ Fiori square, or discover just steps away the more austere Piazza Farnese. The latter stands out for its two fountains made from ancient bathtubs, but especially for the presence of the majestic Palazzo Farnese, home to the French Embassy.
