Capitol Place

Piazza del campidoglio (Place of the capitol hill), 2005

The place of Capitole is altered since 1564 on a project of Michel-Angel. In spite of the modifications of Giacomo della Porta, the unit carries the print of Michel-Angel. The palates which frame the place have a very complex structure, still mannerist. The colossal order of the pilasters, which embraces the two stages, is an innovation which the style baroque ensures a long descent.
